  • Anticipation

I can’t wait for my concertina to arrive.

More than that, I’m looking forward to getting away for the weekend with Laure.

I realized today that we haven’t been alone for more than a day in a very long time. We’re heading to Estes for a few days. Snowshoeing, sleeping, being out of the house, not needing to feed the pets. It’s going to be awesome.

Race of creatures bent on releasing the elder gods or Windows typedef?

Either way, the answer will drive you mad!

  • Whew!

I just got done with a couple weeks of 14+ hour work days. So, I’m taking today off. I was hoping to do some snowshoeing, but we decided to sleep instead. So, I’m sitting here *posting to my xanga*. So, there – eat it!

I ended up dropping my class for this semester. I was starting to freak out about just getting to class with the way work was going, and we hadn’t even done anything yet. I’m still registered for thesis credit, and I think I’ll be able to do that. For the next few weeks, though, I need to do lots of work.

Other than that, there hasn’t been much going on. Our DVD player died, so we’ve been using the PS2. Some friends of ours gave us their old DVD player, but the component output doesn’t work correctly (no blue). Maybe I’ll take the time to open up the player and see if it’s a bad connection.

Well, I guess I found something to do. No day off for me!

  • Marketing

I was just sent these links at work. They are all HP ads. (For all I know, they are on TV all the time, and I’m just months behind.) Anyway, give them a look. Just make sure you aren’t drinking something that will be hard to clean off the monitor.

    Barry wanted me to post.

  • At the airport

We’re sitting in the jazz food court eating our blueberry muffins and
drinking our orange juice. Our flight starts boarding in about half an
hour. We had a lot of fun, and it’ll be fun to look forward to our
next visit. Till then, adiós, Chicago.

  • Happy New Year

We had our annual Hittle-Barbee New Year’s Eve Humdinger last night. Team Jonathan trounced the competition in the biennial Cranium game. My sister-in-law won the game of Pirate’s Cove. Mina and Becca won the two games of Bohnanza, respectively.

We got several inches of snow last night, and it is still snowing! It was blowing around, so it would be hard to get an accurate measurement of snowfall. It’s beautiful outside, and I’m hoping that our niece is in a mood for making a snowman or some-such when they come over this afternoon.

We got to see some old friends over the weekend, and even got to spend a couple hours alone with one of the couples. Those are the sorts of sweet times that I look forward to when coming out this way, and they are always a blessing.

  • A day off

Today I put together one of my Christmas gifts. It was a good way to
spend four hours. Now the Sugar Town is being attacked by pirates.

  • Merrillville Christmas

We had fun in Merrillville, too. We got more good booty, and we played
Bohnanza. We were there til 1am watching cartoons and random vids on
    youtube.

  • Cedar Lake Christmas

We all got to get together this morning, including my brother-in-law
who had back surgery last Tuesday. He was looking good, so we’re all
happy for that. Our niece was bouncing around with glee. And us boys
got to shoot each other with nerf. It was fun.

Now it’s off to Merrillville for the afternoon.
