Today was our 50 month anniversary! Yay!
It was also a day for us to celebrate the paying off of a student loan! Yay, again!
So, we went out for dinner and got some ice cream.
That’s about it. Howsaboutyou?

Monday was Life Day! Hooray! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, read up on it. A group of us got together yesterday to celebrate, and I was too overcome with joy to remember to post until I was already almost in bed.
Not much else to talk about from Monday.
It’s been one of those days – long. Started at 7am and is now ending. Had a couple meetings in addition to the normal church stuff this morning. I also spent some time memorizing my Greek verbs (I’m really close to having the indicative down, now!) and carving up yesterday’s turkey.
For last night’s Body Builders’ Thanksgiving celebration I fried a 14lb turkey. It turned out alright, but I overdid it. But, overall, I was pleased with the result. About half of it was eaten (we also had a roasted turkey which turned out to be quite delicious) so I carved up the second half this afternoon. Unfortunately I snacked too much on the turkey while carving it up.
It is really time for bed. I’m exhausted. Hope things are going well.
Does anyone know of a good source for fake hair? I need to spend some quality time with Google. The project I have in mind would require a *lot* of fake hair.
While the cat still does not like turkey liver, she does like turkey heart. Next turkey, I’ll just give the dog all the liver and the cat all the heart.
I’m trying to make a spicy broth out of the heart, neck, etc. from the turkey I’m going to start frying in a few hours. Hopefully it will be successful. I’ll make something more typical out of the turkey carcass.
Other than that, not much going on. I slept in after watching way too much B5 last night. Now it’s time to work on my Greek.
Spent the day fighting meaningless warnings from MS’s compiler. I was hoping to get more accomplished then I did. Then I came home and we’ve watched some B5.
Tomorrow is cram Greek, read a book, fry a turkey. Should be fun.
Registered for next semester’s classes. If there were still openings, my Mondays will consist of
Leave at 6am
8 – 10:45 Gospels and Acts
12 – 12:50 Intro to Mentoring/Spiritual Formation (this is the mentoring/formation that we students participate in for ourselves, not as explicit training on how to mentor/spiritually form)
1 – 3:45 Greek II
Then, sometime during the week, I’ll have to “attend” the Internet version of Early-Medieval Church History.
Unfortunately we did not get our Colossians papers back tonight. We’re supposed to have the grades by Friday and be able to pick them up on Monday (Wednesday for me).
The cat is now kneading the back cushion to the chair I’m sitting in. This is fine as long as she doesn’t see my back as part of the cushion. She has her claws out.
How’s about you? Things going ok?
This’ll be short ‘cuz I’m posting from my iPhone and on my way to bed. Tried to cram in more Greek. Getting there. I need to get that exam out of the way so I can read another book and write the report on it this week. Then I have another such report for next week, followed by a term paper, followed by another IBS, this time with a creative presentation of what was learned. It’s going to be a long month.
I also need to remember to register for something tomorrow, so I don’t get the $25 late fee.
How you doing?
Dead tired.
Today was work and date night. We had a wonderful time.
Now it’s time for sleep.
Having finished a distraction, I got back to my real project at work, today. Hopefully I’ll make substantial progress on that soon.
Spent the evening doing homework. I got to review the psalm and prophecy assignment for the other three people in my “cohort”, and then it was back to studying Greek. Tonight’s material was going better, but I got to it much later than I wanted, so I didn’t get nearly as far as I needed to. I guess there’s always lunch tomorrow.
Time to go to bed. I needs my sleep.
I’ve spent all day trying to cram Greek back into my head. It is not working all that well. It would help if I didn’t have to keep turning back several chapters from the material on which the current exam is going to focus. Why can’t I remember autos? Curse you, autos!
Anyway, since no one has tried to pull me away from the microphone…
I’m going to speak again to a limited audience – social conservatives, especially Christians, that keep voting Republican. Everyone else can listen in if they want to, and feel free to participate.
It has also occurred to me that we keep overlooking some rather grievous problems with the Republicans. To an extent, this is true of all politicians, but I don’t vote for all politicians, so I’ll talk about the ones I vote for or am expected to vote for. Have you noticed just how corrupt the Republicans are? Jack Abramoff, anyone? Or how about the Bush White House claiming “executive privilege” for so many things during this administration? How about the obviously bad intelligence that was used to justify the war in Iraq? How about Senator Ted Stevens from Alaska who was just convicted for accepting illegal personal gifts? How about Sarah Palin and the problems with the firing of her public safety commissioner? How about John McCain of the Keating Five?
Do we really need to put up with this? At this point, given our lack of success working with the Republicans, is it doing us any good? That is to say, is it helping us meet our goals?
Here’s a hard question – how much do fiscal conservatism, Republican immigration policy (the “build a fence on the border” type, not the amnesty type), and hard lined foreign policy really mesh up with OT and NT teaching on hospitality, caring for orphans and widows, and living at peace? I’m not *saying* that they don’t, I’m just trying to spark a discussion.
