Month: November 2008

  • NaBloPoMo Day 20

    So very, very tired.

I’m going to bed before my head explodes. Then I can get up really early and finish this book. Ugh.

  • NaBloPoMo Day 19 (~20 minutes late)

Well, I finally had to give in and take that Greek mid-term. I won’t know until I get it back, but I think I did “ok” for some definition thereof. Definitely not as good as the first mid-term. I have three weeks to get ready for the final, so time to get to it.

I’m about 1/6 of the way through Agents of Transformation on which I need to write a report for tomorrow night.

I got my Colossians paper back. 97/100. Not bad, but I can do better. I need to talk to the prof, though, since her notes don’t make it obvious what the point losses are for.

Time for bed! I have to get up early so I can finish reading this book!

  • NaBloPoMo Day 18 (on time!)

Today was our 50 month anniversary! Yay!

It was also a day for us to celebrate the paying off of a student loan! Yay, again!

So, we went out for dinner and got some ice cream.

    That’s about it. Howsaboutyou?

  • NaBloPoMo Day 17 (1 day late)

Monday was Life Day! Hooray! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, read up on it. A group of us got together yesterday to celebrate, and I was too overcome with joy to remember to post until I was already almost in bed.

Not much else to talk about from Monday.

  • NaBloPoMo Day 16 (~30 minutes late)

It’s been one of those days – long. Started at 7am and is now ending. Had a couple meetings in addition to the normal church stuff this morning. I also spent some time memorizing my Greek verbs (I’m really close to having the indicative down, now!) and carving up yesterday’s turkey.

For last night’s Body Builders’ Thanksgiving celebration I fried a 14lb turkey. It turned out alright, but I overdid it. But, overall, I was pleased with the result. About half of it was eaten (we also had a roasted turkey which turned out to be quite delicious) so I carved up the second half this afternoon. Unfortunately I snacked too much on the turkey while carving it up.

It is really time for bed. I’m exhausted. Hope things are going well.

  • NaBloPoMo Day 15

Does anyone know of a good source for fake hair? I need to spend some quality time with Google. The project I have in mind would require a *lot* of fake hair.

While the cat still does not like turkey liver, she does like turkey heart. Next turkey, I’ll just give the dog all the liver and the cat all the heart.

I’m trying to make a spicy broth out of the heart, neck, etc. from the turkey I’m going to start frying in a few hours. Hopefully it will be successful. I’ll make something more typical out of the turkey carcass.

Other than that, not much going on. I slept in after watching way too much B5 last night. Now it’s time to work on my Greek.

  • NaBloPoMo Day 14

Spent the day fighting meaningless warnings from MS’s compiler. I was hoping to get more accomplished then I did. Then I came home and we’ve watched some B5.

Tomorrow is cram Greek, read a book, fry a turkey. Should be fun.

  • NaBloPoMo Day 13

Registered for next semester’s classes. If there were still openings, my Mondays will consist of
    Leave at 6am
    8 – 10:45 Gospels and Acts
12 – 12:50 Intro to Mentoring/Spiritual Formation (this is the mentoring/formation that we students participate in for ourselves, not as explicit training on how to mentor/spiritually form)
    1 – 3:45 Greek II

Then, sometime during the week, I’ll have to “attend” the Internet version of Early-Medieval Church History.

Unfortunately we did not get our Colossians papers back tonight. We’re supposed to have the grades by Friday and be able to pick them up on Monday (Wednesday for me).

The cat is now kneading the back cushion to the chair I’m sitting in. This is fine as long as she doesn’t see my back as part of the cushion. She has her claws out.

How’s about you? Things going ok?

  • NaBloPoMo Day 12

This’ll be short ‘cuz I’m posting from my iPhone and on my way to bed. Tried to cram in more Greek. Getting there. I need to get that exam out of the way so I can read another book and write the report on it this week. Then I have another such report for next week, followed by a term paper, followed by another IBS, this time with a creative presentation of what was learned. It’s going to be a long month.

I also need to remember to register for something tomorrow, so I don’t get the $25 late fee.

    How you doing?

  • NaBloPoMo Day 11

    Dead tired.

Today was work and date night. We had a wonderful time.

    Now it’s time for sleep.
